Krakus Luncheon Club at Polish & Slavic Center is funded by the City of New York, under contract with Department for The Aging (DFTA).

Everyday, approximately 130 seniors attend our Club, which is located on 176 Java Street, in Greenpoint. They come to eat a balanced meal and spend time in a friendly environment. Lunch consists of soup, a main dish and dessert. The menu is designed by seniors with the help of club employees and approved by nutritionist from DFTA.

Krakus activity is not limited to serving meals. We also conduct educational and recreational activities. Seniors come to play chess, cards, domino, bingo, to read newspapers, to watch movies, to sing in choir and much, much more. Twice a week, seniors meet for ESL classes. Once a month, the Krakus Club arranges for a birthday party with a cake, soft drinks, music and dancing. Similar parties are also organized for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Easter.
