John Paul II Friendship Center is located at the oldest Polish parish in Manhattan.

It is financed by the Department for the Aging (DFTA), and the Polish Slavic Center is a central sponsor. A main part of the services that the Friendship Center provides, for people over 60 years of age, is serving hot lunch for approximately 75 seniors daily.

The program provides many cultural and educational activities as well. Every day, seniors may watch movies and TV, listen to music, and play board games in pleasant atmosphere.

One of the employees at the John Paul II Friendship Center is a social worker, who works full-time to help seniors in every day matters, forming simple translations for complicated issues like retirement benefits.
