The Section 8 Housing Voucher Program starts on June 3

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) will be accepting applications for the federal Section 8 Housing Voucher Program, which has been closed to new applicants in New York City for the past 15 years. Applications can only be submitted online
from June 3 to 9, 2024 https://apply.section8.nycha.info/

After applying and qualifying for a limited list of 200,000 through a random draw, applicants will wait to receive their Section 8 vouchers. The draw result will be available on the website (selfserve.nycha.info) on August 1. Section 8 vouchers, which allow you to pay 1/3 of your income in rent, will be allocated to people on the waiting list according to numbers drawn.
