Polish poetry over a glass of wine

Young actors from the Powszechny Theater in Radom appeared on the stages of the Polish and Slavic Center with a performance “A glass of wine with the actors” based on the poetry by  Jerzy Turnadot, Wisława Szymborska, Tadeusz Różewicz, Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, Jeremy Przybora, and other famous Polish writers.

This was a sentimental journey through the most beautiful Polish poems, songs, and excerpts from dramas by renown Polish writers. Samojlik and Michnikowski took the audience to the world of the “enchanted carriage”, nobility manors, peasants’ huts, and good Polish humor. The performance, prepared for the Polish American audience, made us laugh and shed a tear. “Theater and art are to get to the hearts through emotion” – said the actors who also wrote the script for the “Glass of wine with the actors”.

Samojlik and Michnikowski work at the Teatr Powszechny in Radom. Both also have appeared in film and TV productions.
