A successful picnic at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in Greenpoint
On Sunday, September 29, the weather was not great, but the picnic at the St. Stanislaus Kostka parish was a great success. Crowds of guests, great Polish food, drinks, sweets, cotton candy, pop corn. There was a Polish-Slavic Federal Credit Union stand with promotional gadgets from the Bank and a Polish-Slavic Center stand also with gadgets and sweet croissants. There were also stands: Iridology, where you could have your health checked, Medical & Cosmetic Dermatology, Marek Paliwoda, numismatics and Say Cheese NYC Photobooth-Anna and Michał Jaszewski. Children went wild on the dance floor, young people learned group dancing and adults danced like they were at a disco, all to the music of the great DJ Wojtek Pejko. The picnic was also attended by priests: Sławomir Szucki and Jakub Dębicki.
The raffle with interesting gifts from numerous sponsors, led by the parish priest, Fr. Grzegorz Markulak, CM, was very popular. Among the valuable prizes were: an iPad, an Iwatch, a vacuum cleaner, a TV set, vouchers to renowned restaurants in Greenpoint and many baskets of sweets. The Grand Marshal of the 87th Pulaski Parade in New York, Piotr Praszkowicz with his wife Dorota, the Marshal of Greenpoint, Robert Tarnawski and the president of the John Paul II Foundation Friends’ Circle in New York, Mieczysław Pająk with his wife Regina, took part in the picnic.
The idea of the beautiful decoration of the hall was the work of Grażyna Dabek, and volunteers helped her to implement it.
It was a nice integration meeting of the parishioners. See you next year!
