On Tuesday, February 4th, Krakus Senior Center PSC, operating under the The Polish & Slavic Center (PSC), hosted a highly valuable lecture on speech therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. The session was led by Ms. Marta Rodenko from the Speech Therapy Center at Queens College, who shared her knowledge and experience on methods that help improve communication for those affected by this condition. She also introduced a special therapy program that is available to anyone in need of support. Seniors had the opportunity to learn many interesting and useful facts about Parkinson’s disease – from communication improvement techniques and the importance of a proper diet to strategies for managing daily challenges. The lecture not only provided valuable knowledge but also practical tips that can significantly enhance the quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s.
