Pride Month at the JP2 Friendship Center

As part of the celebration of LGBTQ Month Celebration

at the John Paul II Center in Manhattan operating at
the Polish-Slavic Center,
a film entitled: “History of Pride Since1800s”
from the NextDayBetter series was presented.
The presentation took place on June 26 and June 30 after lunch.
In addition, on June 30, a rebroadcast of the Pride March
in New York was also presented.
The films recalled the history of freedom movements
since the 19th century (Stonewall Riots in New York,
the First Parades in the 70s) but also those people
from history such as William Shakespeare,
Leonardo da Vinci, Piotr Tchaikovsky, Emilia Dickinson,
Walt Whitman who had an influence on world culture.
