“Pisanki” Competition at the JP2 Friendship Center

During Holy Week, seniors from the JP2 Club in Manhattan created their own Easter decorations and Easter eggs. Everyone could use their own creativity or use ready-made designs.

Creating Easter eggs is a long-standing tradition from old Polish customs from the 10th century as a way to ward off evil spirits and later included in Easter rituals. The egg was simply recognized as a symbol of the Lord's resurrection. The JP2 Club used the technique of painting and blowing eggs.

The winners of the award for the best Easter eggs were:

1st prize. Bogumila Jezut
2nd prize. Helena Unhauser
3rd prize. Stanley Strychacki

The winners received Easter gifts for their award.

Congratulations
