New Series at Krakus Senior Center: “History Lecture”

At Krakus Senior Center PSC, part of the Polish and Slavic Center, we have launched a new and special series of meetings titled History Lecture. Each month, we honor outstanding Poles whose achievements have made our country known around the world. We believe it is important to remember the great figures of our history, especially while living far from our homeland.
In March, the hero of our meeting was Józef Piłsudski – a steadfast patriot, the founder of independent Poland, and a symbol of the fight for freedom. Presentations about his life and accomplishments were shared by: Krzysztof Zieliński, Anna Kucay, Janina Radziejowska, Wiesława Niewińska, Wiesława Bałakowska, Bożena Bajkiewicz, Grażyna Ostrowska, Marianna Prusaczyk, Stefan Rysak, Halina Jaworska, Tadeusz Nowak, Waldemar Ostrowski and Zofia Wiszniewska.
Thanks to their passion and commitment, we were able to learn even more about one of Poland’s greatest historical figures.
This month, in April, we will celebrate the extraordinary achievements of Marie Skłodowska-Curie — the first woman ever to receive two Nobel Prizes.
We warmly invite all seniors to the next meeting of the History Lecture series, which will take place tomorrow at 11:00 AM at Krakus Senior Center!
Let us cherish together the memory of those who changed the world!
A big round of applause to everyone who contributed and made this event so memorable!
