We warmly invite you to the next event in our History Lecture Series, taking place on Thursday, June 26th at 11am at Krakus Senior Center part of the Polish and Slavic Center.
This month, we will honor the memory of the unforgettable Hanka Ordonówna – a legendary Polish stage performer, a woman of deep sensitivity, and a wartime heroine whose remarkable life deserves to be remembered and celebrated.
We would also like to share a special memory from our May gathering, which paid heartfelt tribute to Saint John Paul II. In an atmosphere filled with emotion and reflection, we revisited the life and legacy of the Polish Pope – a man whose spiritual leadership changed the course of history and remains deeply rooted in the hearts of people around the world.
His powerful biography was read by Anna Kucay, Wiesława Niewińska, Stefan Rysak, Barbara Ciura, Bożena Bajkiewicz, Danuta Koba, and Margaret Zimmerman, accompanied by a beautiful performance from the Krakus Choir under the direction of Kasia Drucker.
A particularly moving moment of the event was the reading of a touching original poem written and recited by Halina Jaworska, dedicated to Saint John Paul II.
Let’s continue to honor and preserve our history – for it is filled with individuals whose impact is felt across the world.
We look forward to seeing you on June 26th!
