End of the Year Party at the JP2 Friendship Center

On Monday, December 30, the JP2 Friendship Center part of Polish Slavic Center celebrated the end of 2024 Disco with music from the 70s, 80s and 90s. The DJ of the party was the famous New Yorker Dany Johnson, who was a legendary DJ in many clubs in the East Village, collaborating with many famous artists of those years mentioning such stars as: Andy Warhol, Madonna, bands: Nirvana, R.E.M. During the end-of-year party for seniors, drinks and snacks donated by “Vaselka” were served. Special thanks to our partner for supporting this initiative. The party marked the ceremonial end of 2024 and brought a lot of joy to our seniors as well as to the guests. The songs included American hits from those old days, but there were also some well-known Eastern Europe songs. The guests were seniors from many districts of Manhattan: Chinatown, Chelsea, West Village, Downtown, and many artists, including those who remember the famous parties in the East Village in the 80s and 90s, including the artist Drew Straub, who is also a exhibition curator at the Museum. of Modern Arts (MOMA), there were also many guests from Brooklyn, both Polish and international. Thanks to the parish, sponsors and all the people involved in the New Year’s party. We share a few photos. We wish you all a happy 2025. We invite you to more events and fun in Manhattan at the JP2 Friendship Center in the new year. (photos by Agata Forys)
